John Ellis, MD, 369 CUG

John Ellis is the Managing Director of 369 Construction Universe Group. He has 25 years in UK construction, starting on site at 16, and 14 years as a quantity surveyor, working on over £250 million of construction works across residential, commercial and education projects.

John has held commercial roles at Mace, Morgan Sindall, Esh Group, Elliott (Modulaire Group) and Lindum Group. At Esh he was a key member of the commercial team on the £9.4 million conversion of the Grade II listed former Cookridge Hospital into 63 assisted living apartments. In 2023 he founded 369 Construction Universe Group to bring the same commercial control to his clients' projects.

The project involved coordinating 93 work packages alongside specialists including timber experts, conservation officers and renovation professionals, giving John hands-on experience of commercial control on a large, complex scheme.
